Description

Amnios... The body, the most magnificent landscape.

Those women “floating”, the lightness of their body in suspension,

The sensuality of their curves... the energy of lines...

The desire to simplify the outlines, to draw shapes and landscapes with their body...

This stretched piece of cloth against which my model leans herself suggests a membrane, a pocket she would like to; or the spectator would like her to pierce.

No need to actually see this woman face to face to admire her, the suggestion of her body outline throughout the piece of cloth is enough to be conquered. As a child about to be born, the furtiveness of this vision is enchanting, provocative.

This membrane protects these women from the look of others while stimulating the imagination, the dream…

Scared of watching her vanishing…? Intertwined bodies remind us of caves painting, first drawings of cavemen…

A workshop or a photographer’s studio is somehow just like a cave…

Biography

Eric Ceccarini...

A pictorial photographer

Graduated with distinction from the Infac Photography School in Brussels, professional photographer in fashion and advertisement (Elle, L’Oréal, Levi’s, Coca Cola, Virgin, Saab…). “Since 20 years, I have always been trying to sublimate the women that I have shot…”

In practical terms, the darkroom, the natural light and the large-framed Polaroid have helped me throughout my steps.

The result is sweet, smooth and very pictorial…

The envy to take natural pictures of my models, that is to say without any makeup, fashion designer, hairdresser nor clothes has imposed itself through my urge to catch the essence, the soul of these “cover girls”…

I find these women gorgeous in their simplicity and, probably from that, in their nudity…

Their body is the most magnificent landscape. Many painters from Italian Renaissance (Boticelli, Fra Angelico, Michel Angelo) influence a great deal of my work.

The outcome of my research has been exposed for the first time in Barcelona in 2006/6007. Then in many cities: Brussels, Lille, Knokke and also in England, France and Spain.

The bankruptcy of Polaroid in January 2008 and the feverish research of my pictures’ simplification brought me to explore other ways… Traditional negatives or digital techniques… lights… to reach those results you have in front of you today…
